The Scotch-Brite (TM) Roloc (TM) Rough Cleaning Disc XT Pro Extra Cut features an aluminum oxide abrasive mineral integrated into an open nylon construction. Our wheels are designed to remove tough coatings such as heavy rust, thick paint and corrosion while blending and finishing the bare metal underneath. With the Scotch-Brite (TM) Roloc (TM) Coarse Cleaning Disc XT Pro Extra Cut, you can benefit from improved adaptability while maintaining the same strength when pretreating metal surfaces and removing rust and paint. The disc is characterized by a combination of newly developed fibre bundles, synthetic resin and aluminium oxide abrasive, which together form a thick, open fleece. The resilient nature of the fibers allows the disc to adapt more precisely to the contours of the workpiece. This increases the contact surface and stock removal. It adapts to welding beads so that weld seams can be polished. It can also be used to process areas that are difficult to access. Aluminum oxide is a very hard mineral with a high removal rate. It is usually used in applications with high contact pressure such as cutting or removing weld seams. When removing heavy rust, thick layers of paint or corrosion, it ensures powerful removal without leaving nicks. At the same time, the underlying workpiece is prepared. Users can therefore use the same wheel to remove paint from a workpiece and prepare it for welding or a bonding application. This saves time, as no abrasives need to be replaced. Gaps in the fleece also allow sanding abrasion to be removed, minimizing clogging of the abrasive. The strengthening resin bond gradually breaks up during work to expose new fiber bundles and new super-sharp aluminum oxide abrasive. This ensures a constant removal rate over the entire service life. The high-strength fibers counteract tearing and ensure low vibration, high rotational speeds and a long service life. These discs offer the additional benefit of a Roloc (TM) quick-change system. The disc can be quickly and easily attached to a Roloc (TM) backing pad (available separately), which is connected to the power tool. This minimizes set-up and connection times and increases productivity.
