The Scotch-Brite (TM) Surface Conditioning Low Stretch non-woven belt is our tough and flexible, medium-strength abrasive belt for versatile use in cleaning, finishing and light deburring. Our abrasive belts effectively remove material from contoured and irregular surfaces without damaging the substrate. For cleaning, finishing and light deburring, use our durable and flexible low-stretch Scotch-Brite (TM) abrasive belt for surface finishing. Our abrasive belts allow effective cutting without damaging materials and are ideal for use on contoured and uneven surfaces. The abrasive belts deliver the best performance on steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium and nickel alloys and can be used on aluminum, copper, brass and soft non-ferrous metals. They are available in numerous designs to suit a wide range of applications. Scotch-Brite low-stretch abrasive belts for surface finishing are made of aluminum oxide and silicon carbide minerals. They are available in numerous combinations, including: Aluminum Oxide Medium (A MED), Aluminum Oxide Very Fine (A VFN), Aluminum Oxide Coarse (A CRS), Silicon Carbide Medium (S MED), Silicon Carbide Super Fine (S SFN) and Silicon Carbide Very Fine (S VFN). Aluminum oxide breaks off softer than silicon carbide, but lasts longer. It is ideal if only light grinding marks are required, for example on softer metals, or if furrowing or undercutting are a primary problem. For a coarser and more aggressive cut, silicon carbide is a good choice. Our finer grits produce finer finishing results, while medium or coarse grits produce coarser finishing results. Our abrasive belts are designed for low stretch applications where a standard cloth belt is stretched on the machine or where less conformability is desired. They are tear resistant, impervious to sharp edges and useful in a variety of industries, from transportation to metalworking. Choose from a range of abrasive belt types, from file or narrow belts, hand sanding belts and abrasive belt sleeves to wide and flat finish sanding belts. Tools, surface area, contours and dimensions of the workpiece - all these factors must be taken into account when selecting an abrasive belt. Narrow sanding belts are usually used in applications with bench tools and sanding blocks. Abrasive belt sleeves are fitted around extension wheels and used for finishing large stationary equipment parts. Scotch-Brite open-textured industrial abrasives are unique and offer many advantages. The non-woven technology combines fiber bundles, synthetic resin and abrasive mineral into a thick, open-textured fabric. The fibers are resilient and conform effectively to contours, removing unwanted burrs, soil and dirt without altering the shape of the workpiece. This results in less reworking and greater productivity. Openings in the nonwoven allow sanding abrasion to be removed so that the material does not become clogged. The fibers in the fleece wear continuously during use, exposing fresh abrasive grit. This results in exceptional consistency, excellent cutting performance and a very long service life. Scotch-Brite products are designed to increase productivity and simplify work processes. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring and more, the wheels work faster and deliver consistent results.
