Our 3M (TM) Smooth Transition Tape easily prevents reworking due to hard paint edges. It has been specially developed to achieve smoother transitions in finishes: The adhesive is located in a raised center ridge. The paint penetrates under the edges so that virtually invisible paint edges can be achieved. Achieve flawless results with 3M (TM) Smooth Transition Tape when masking and painting, for example on door openings, side panels and beading. Our tape is easy to apply and requires no additional masking or preparation. Simply apply it in addition to the usual masking products you use to protect the adjacent areas of the job and achieve a smooth painted edge. The 3M (TM) Smooth Transition Tape is 7 mm wide. Its raised ridge is the only part that has adhesive and is applied to the surface. The adhesive-free remainder of the tape allows the primer and paint to penetrate naturally during spraying. This creates a virtually invisible line between the existing and new paint layers without any additional effort on the part of the painter.
